Here in the Summer of 2014, we have the chance to take a snapshot of Modern American Architecture as it relates to stone and tile. This is not always the easiest concept  to define but why not start with a few simple ideas.

In general, Modern American Architecture wants function to define form and that form should be simple and linear whenever possible. Openness to air and light should create a situation where design can focus on materials and allow interior spaces to gracefully meet the exterior environment. One of my personal favorite websites is FreshHome.com, a meeting place for ideas in design for all. In particular, a recent post called “Why People Love Modern Architecture”. intrigued us mightily. Here is an observation from that post, “less is definitely more when it comes to decorating a modern home. After all, why would you want to hide all the amazing architectural details of the design by adorning it with a lot of extra ornamentation?”
